| A speech and language pathologist is provided for both children and adults who benefit from rehabilitation of speech, language, voice, cognitive problems, and swallowing dysfunction. | |
| Intervention is provided to patient populations for stroke, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease, head and neck cancer, pediatric speech, and language developmental disorders. Areas of treatment include aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, voice, dysphagia, articulation, accent reduction, and language. | |
| Treatment varies in length dependent upon an individual’s specific needs. Standardized testing is utilized for initial, and final, evaluations to accurately measure baseline functioning and the patient’s progress throughout therapy. | |
| Individuals requesting speech, language, and/or swallowing services require a written prescription from their physician. Healthstyles Physical Rehabilitation employs a speech and language pathologist certified by the American Language and Hearing Association. The requisite for becoming a certified therapist is to complete a Masters program and a supervised year of clinical fellowship year prior to permanent employment. | |
